Ergonomic Home Office

These days, there are a wide range of fully adjustable computer and office desks and computer armoires that will help you have an ergonomically correct office space without spending tons of money to get there. If you aren't familiar with "ergonomics," it's a simple concept. An ergonomic computer desk is one that has special features so you can adjust it to your own personal body to make sure you are comfortable and not straining in any way.

Most ergonomic computer desks or armoires always have a few features: an adjustable keyboard tray, enough desktop space to write comfortably and a monitor shelf. Most armoire desks have room for a mouse, keyboard, printer, monitor and speakers. Cubicle desks, used in a larger workspace, are often modular, and can be fitted for many different computer components depending on the user's needs.

Many computer desks also have adjustable height to make sure you are comfortable and do not sustain any injury in the work environment. If you sit at your computer for more than five hours per day, ergonomics should be considered. Correct posture, hand placement and keyboard level, computer screen distance from your face and a chair that supports your back and hips are all important ergonomic aspects to consider. One thing you should be sure to do is have a seat at the computer desk before you decide to bring it home. Make sure the top surface is at a comfortable working height for you, and make sure it will accommodate your business chair. If the desk is adjustable, make sure you know how to adjust it to your height before you bring it home.
