Computer Armoire/Desks Styles
Computer desks at the most basic level are used to keep your computer, its components and your other desk items organized and easy to use. Basic computer stations also have some simple yet very helpful features: keyboard and or mouse tray, a shelf for a CPU and a hole to keep cords untangled and neat. Higher-end desks might include additional features, like book shelves, CD holders or a printer shelf.

There are a number of special types of computer desks for those looking for something to suit an existing decor scheme or for someone who has specific tastes in any kind of furniture. If you are living or working in a small space a corner desk might be a good choice for you. If your space is small, a desk with doors and drawers helps expand on the otherwise unused space that a corner desk can live in. If you have a laptop computer instead of a desktop, you might consider a laptop cart that isn't specifically made for a computer but that can still accommodate a smaller laptop machine. These desks are also good if your work involves writing with paper and pens. |

A writing desk is usually used for just that: writing. It has a surface for placing a laptop and as far as storage, it might have a few spots for placing things and maybe a drawer or a closeable top. Many times, they are made of wood and can add a lovely design element to any room.
A secretary desk has a few drawers below the top surface and can be closed down when not in use, so it's a great space saver. It's similar to a computer armoire and is good for any room where a cluttered desk might be unsightly. A student desk has drawers under one side of the surface and the other side is open for a seat; this style is perfect for a dorm room.
