Computer Armoire or Computer Desk?

Some might think the idea of a computer armoire is an odd one: who wants their computer in what amounts to a closet? But for those who don't have a traditional office space, or like to have their computer in a more family friendly space, like a den or a living room, the computer armoire is actually a great, livable solution that allows users to tuck the computer and its sometimes unsightly appearance away when its not in use.

Many modern apartments and modern homes don't have an extra room to make into an office or den, and for students on a limited budget, or those living in a studio apartment, a computer armoire is the perfect space saving, attractive solution. All your computer equipment will fit neatly into a computer armoire, and everything has a place inside: monitor, keyboard, mouse, printers, fax machines and all their related cords. And when you have company or the workday ends, simply shut the doors.

If you are lucky enough to have a spacious home or a personal office, a computer desk might be more to your liking. A computer desk is a more permanent solution, and if the room your desk is in is devoted to an office, you probably don't need the added space saving that comes with other options. Also, if you want to hide your unsightly office space, all you have to do is shut the door to the room.

Just because a computer desk isn't always on display doesn't mean it has to be ugly. There are many handsomely designed computer desks that will suit any decor style under the sun: contemporary, modern, traditional or vintage, there's one out there for you. Even the most eclectic styles probably have the same handy features: keyboard tray, file drawers, pencil drawers and even a spot for the mousepad.
